Kanab for the 4th

We were in Kanab for the 4th. We had a fantastic time visiting friends and enjoying the holiday festivities. We rolled into town Thursday night, just in time for me to go with my good friend Darlene to a new moon/bellydance celebration. It was a little new age wierd but fun to visit and dance with my old troupe.
Friday was full of good times. We were gently awoke by these rediculous cannon blasts at 6 a.m. Shelly says there were only three but I think it was more like 50. I never really got back to sleep, just laid there trying. I'm sure sleeping on the hide-a-bed in a hotel room didn't help much. So off to the parade at 10 a.m. and then to the park for snow cones, kettle corn, cotton candy (tummy aches) carnival games and the splashy fountains. Back to the hotel for naps, even I got one. Around dinner time we called our friends the Stewarts to go out with us and ended up at their house for a BBQ (We didn't mean to invite ourselves, really) We love them, they are so fun and down-to-earth. The kids didn't miss a beat. Andrew and Travis loved each other, like they had never been apart. We always laugh and have a great time with them. They live on a corner just one block from the park so it was the perfect spot to watch fireworks. It was great. The Bonhams also came over to watch the fireworks. We loved seeing them and I really appreciate Aaron's ability to make himself at home wherever he is. Saturday was cooler and overcast, just right for relaxing in the hotel. The skies cleard in the afternoon so Spencer had his best friend Easton and Benjamin had his good friend Macie over to swim. They are all little fishes. They swam and dove and had a ton of fun. After that we went to the Bonham's for dinner. We enjoyed our time with them and really appreciate their opening their home to us, the Stewarts and the Andersons. Thanks you all for being such great friends. We went to church Sunday morning and then headed home. WOW, what a trip. We were really able to cram alot into just a few days. Okay guys, now it's your turn to come visit us. Hope to see you all soon. Love ya!!!
